BROWN RUGS

In design today, there is no other color that quite compares to all of the shades of brown. A brown area rug is a perfect base for a room and goes well with earth tones. If you already have a lot of brown in a room, designers recommend that you try a sisal rug since those rugs tend to make the room feel lighter. Whichever brown area rug you find on Rugzilla.com, you're sure to be pleased with the quality and longevity.

Decorating With Brown on the Floor

Not only is brown neutral it’s natural. Brown area rugs go very well with masculine, leather furniture, or even fragile antiques. Formal rooms decked out in rich leather, heavy materials and detailed accessories almost beg for this deep color underfoot to complete the look. Often, it might seem overwhelming, but it can really add luxury to the right type of space. Reds, golds, even cream and beige accent pieces will work to lighten everything up.

Keep in mind that brown rugs don’t have to be a solid color. Many examples are mixed with other hues to add a little vibrant sparkle to them. The trick to decorating with brown is to consider the decor you already have – or are going to create – then match accessories and accents to the area rug you have purchased.

If you have a large, high-celling in a formal room you’ll find a brown rug made from a lush material is quite at home with chocolate colored furnishings and drapes flecked with gold. A brown rug goes well with beige furniture, deep accent colors and plenty of green plants. Browns also work very well when placed in a bedroom. As an outdoor rug – you won’t notice any muddy footprints!
